It was back to Maryvale for us on Sunday morning to see more of the Brewers. We arrived early enough to check out a little bit of the Minor League workouts and then went inside to watch the Major League practice. I was surprised by the lack of people in attendance. I know Maryvale is not exactly a tourist attraction, but there were seriously under 30 people there (I counted). It gave us a chance to get nice and close to watch BP. If you’ve never watched Carlos Gomez or Rickie Weeks take batting practice, I would very much recommend it. Those two guys can hit the ball as far as anyone.
The big league squad wrapped up around 11:30 and we grabbed a quick bite to eat before returning to Maryvale to watch the Brewers and Royals AAA and AA teams. I spent the majority of the afternoon at the AAA game, watching many of the Brewers top young players like Scooter Gennett, Hunter Morris, Josh Prince and Kentrail Davis. Morris had a single and two doubles, while Davis crushed a no doubt home run to right field. Burke Badenhop started and cruised through the first two innings, but then got roughed up in the third. Brewers GM Doug Melvin was also in attendance to watch the AAA game.

Tomorrow we are going back to Goodyear to check out the Reds and Indians workouts in the morning, and then following that up with the Brewers and Indians MLB game in the afternoon. Here are some of my photos from this mornings workout as well as some from this afternoon’s games between the Brewers and Royals. As always, I have plenty more to post once I get back home, but I hope you enjoy these for now.
